Most colleges and universities except either the ACT or the SAT test but the state of Michigan favors the ACT. With the switch to a new test comes controversy from students who favor the ACT. Now, students have to pay to take the test they want. This change is going to require schools to substitute the preparation for the ACT for the SAT.
Since I have recently taken the PSAT and the ACT, I can say from experience that I favor the SAT better than the ACT. Though I have chosen to take the ACT, I wish that I would have been exposed to the SAT in order to be properly prepared to take the real test. I favor the SAT because, in my opinion, it was easier overall. There wasn't as much reading and the math was less difficult also. I feel that I could have done well on the SAT if I would have had the chance to study.
What is your preference? For those of you that have taken the PSAT, do you wish that you could have had the choice to take it sooner over the ACT?
